A drag racing car which can reach speeds of 235mph has been put up for sale by its owner because it is too slow for his tastes.
The 28ft-long jet-propelled RoadZombie II has been put on the market for £20,000 by owner Ian Caseley so he can build an even faster model. The 41-year-old, from Redhill, wants to build a machine that will be capable of 380mph.
As well as selling the RoadZombie II, which is stored at his Somerset workshop, he is hoping to find an investor for his new project.
Mr Caseley is confident the new car - the RoadZombieIII - which will cost £100,000 to get on the road, will be the fastest car in the country.
He has already purchased a rocket engine powered by propulsion-grade hydrogen peroxide which can power 380mph in just over four seconds.
Mr Caseley was inspired after meeting Colin Fallows, the British land speed record holder at the drag strip in Stratford-upon-Avon where he began racing in 2001.
After meeting with experts in America and Germany and securing £60,000 in investments, the car was finished and Mr Caseley raced for three seasons at the Santa Pod raceway in Northampton.
