Charity sets up road safety website

Reasons behind the high cost of car insurance for young people have been revealed by figures which show 13 people aged 15-25 die on Britain's roads every week.

The statistics from road safety charity Brake have prompted it to team up with The Co-Operative insurance to launch a website to help cut the number of deaths among young people on the roads.

The 2 Young 2 Die website will highlight the deadly results of bad driving and show why safe driving is crucial.

The site contains first-hand accounts of road crashes from people who have been bereaved or seriously injured.

It will include sections on speeding, drink and drug driving, driving whilst tired, driving distractions, not wearing a seat belt and vehicle maintenance.

The website has been specifically designed to be used in a classroom environment, by individuals and within groups such as youth offender institutions.
