Buy one, get one free on new cars

by  |

The current state of the car industry has forced many manufacturers to take drastic action to boost sales, with some offering buyers buy one, get one free deals.

According to Which? Car magazine, "there has never been a better time" to buy with the slump in car sales prompting special offers from some of the leading manufacturers, including Toyota, Honda, Peugeot and Vauxhall.

These companies are using interest-free finance to tempt customers, but drivers have been able to snap up a Kia Magentis with online dealer Broadspeed.com on a buy one get one free deal, just like supermarket special offers.

Although many of the interest-free deals require a large deposit, Vauxhall is offering 0% interest on selected Vectra and Corsa models without any cash down required.

The current offers sweeping dealer forecourts make buying a new car as cheap as buying a second-hand model, according to Richard Headland, editor of Which? Car magazine.

He said: "There's never been a better time to get a discount on a new car if you have got savings that you want to spend or can get finance.

"You have got to play dealers off against each other, always look at online brokers and haggle with your dealer."
