Footballer Pascal Chimbonda could be banned from driving when a judge sentences him for speeding in his Porsche.
A police officer caught Chimbonda, 30, from Loughton, Essex, driving at 91mph on the A19 in Yorkshire earlier this year.
The court heard that the journeyman defender, who currently plays for Blackburn Rovers, had already accumulated nine points on his licence from previous offences including failing to provide information as to the keeper of the vehicle and having no insurance.
Magistrates have indicated that they intend to penalise the footballer with another four penalty points - which would take his total over the maximum number allowed before a ban is imposed.
Defending, Robert McMaster claimed the officer who caught Chimbonda had breached guidelines by failing to set up the device properly and by leaving his car radio on when taking the reading.
Magistrates disagreed, however, and found no evidence to suggest the measurement was unreliable.
The French international has previously played for Tottenham Hotspur on two separate occasions, Wigan Athletic and Sunderland.
