Boy racers and drivers who do not acknowledge acts of courtesy on the road are the main irritants for motorists, a poll has revealed.
Road users are also annoyed by drivers who show off, those who listen to loud music with the windows open and "white van men".
Sunday drivers and school-run mothers also made it into a top 10 list of motorists' pet hates in an AA/Populus poll of nearly 15,000 AA members.
Produced for the Autocar and AA Drive Better campaign, the poll also revealed that slogans such as "baby on board" were annoying to only around 5% of those surveyed.
Boy racers were disliked the most, with 42% regarding them as an irritant. Drivers who did not say thank you when others allowed them to file in to traffic were disliked by 41%.
Autocar editor Chas Haslett said; "Personal transport is hugely important to all of us but we need to make our roads better and safer places to be. Being nicer to other drivers and acknowledging their existence calms everyone down, and that's got to be good for everyone."
The top 10 types of driver that other drivers most dislike were:
1. Boy racers
2. Drivers who do not say thanks
3. Drivers who show off
4. Those who listen to loud music with windows open
5. White van man
6. Sunday drivers
7. School-run mums
8. Taxi/Mini cab drivers
9. Foreign lorry drivers
10.Drivers with caravans end
