The Volkswagen Golf has been honoured with the Business Car of the Year title at the 2010 BusinessCar Awards, for its performance and efficient running costs.
Other manufacturers that scooped the top accolades include BMW and Audi.
BMW was voted Manufacturer of the Year by the readers of BusinessCar Magazine, while it also received the Environmental Award in recognition of its Efficient Dynamics package that helps reduce running costs for business drivers and fleet operators.
The car maker also claimed five category awards - including class wins for the 3 Series and 5 Series models.
Meanwhile, Audi was awarded with a total of three class prizes for the Q5, A8 and R8.
Commenting on the Volkswagen model, BusinessCar Editor Paul Barker said: "The Volkswagen Golf has always been a favourite among business car operators thanks to a combination of brand prestige and appeal, great running costs and a good drive, and the new Golf has built handsomely on those foundations.
"It's no surprise that such a desirable and popular product was voted Business Car of the Year by the people whose organisations depend on making the right choices – the BusinessCar readers."
