Although Lexus and Toyota cars have been in the news for the wrong reasons over the past few months, they continue to be popular among UK buyers, a survey has found.
JD Power and Associates and What Car? compiled data regarding satisfaction with vehicle ownership among UK owners and found that Lexus topped their list.
Lexus, whose vehicles warrant high car insurance premiums due to their luxury standards, is at the front of the pack in this survey for the 10th consecutive year.
The table, which sees Toyota in fifth spot, has Honda in second place and Jaguar in the third, followed by Mercedes-Benz.
Point-wise, Lexus received a total of 846 out of 1,000, based on vehicle appeal including performance, design, comfort and features and vehicle quality and reliability.
The points table also took ownership costs such as fuel consumption, insurance and costs of service/repair as well as dealer service satisfaction into consideration.
More than 17,000 car owners in the UK responded to the survey, which rated the Lexus RX as the best sports utility vehicle and the Lexus IS as the best compact executive car.
The Toyota Aygo was named the best city car and the Toyota Yaris along with the Honda Jazz topped in the small car category.
