A 1959 Jaguar Mk IX Auto - which has undergone a £60,000 restoration - has been sold for a record £25,300 at the Dorset Vintage and Classic Auctions Summer Sale.
Another world record sale was that of a 1989 TVR Tasmin 400SE which fetched £8,140.
The new owners of the cars will be looking for cheap car insurance.
Organisers reported a 75% conversion rate at the show, which saw a varied selection of vehicles including a 1957 Austin-Healey 100/6 in rare Florida Green, a 1993 Bentley Brooklands and a restored 1967 Volkswagen Kombi.
An abandoned-looking 1935 Mercedes-Benz Drophead Coupe has been purchased for £7920 and will be shipped to Germany.
