A new Ducati Desmosedici RR stolen from the driveway of a house in Cheshire has been recovered, thanks to a Tracker security system fitted to the bike.
The thief, who stole the £45,000 worth machine from Alderley Edge, was caught by Police in Manchester within hours of the theft being reported.
Tracker stolen vehicle recovery system includes a covert transmitter, which is hidden in the bike and cannot be removed easily.
It starts working when the motorcycle is moved without activating the ignition. The device indicates if a bike is in the back of a van or lorry.
An increase in the number of motorcycle theft could lead to higher bike insurance premiums.
Kevin Howells, Chairman of the Motorcycle Crime Reduction Group said: "Motorcycle theft is steadily rising with almost 26,000 machines stolen in 2009 alone."
