The Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy has introduced a new course to help prepare UK motorists for winter road conditions.
The Winter Driving course, launched at Mercedes-Benz World in Weybridge, Surrey, offers practical advice and training regarding driving on surfaces with very low grips similar to the ones faced by drivers during winter.
Being better winter drivers could help motorists avoid road accidents and the need to make car insurance claims.
One-to-one coaching by experts at the training centre is included in the course, which costs £99.
Robert East, operations manager, Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy, said: "Cold conditions have a serious impact on driving conditions and it is absolutely essential that drivers are prepared before the winter weather really sets in.
"At the Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy we simulate real extreme driving conditions. Each winter drivers get caught out when the weather turns cold and it's important both new and experienced drivers know what to do, and if the weather is too bad we really advise to stay at home."
