Television presenter Susanna Reid could have made a number of home insurance claims after thieves stole a TV set and other items from her home on Thursday.
The 40-year-old BBC Breakfast presenter was sleeping upstairs when the burglars broke into her south London house in the early hours.
They stole a flat screen television and a few other valuable items, including her Vauxhall Zafira car.
Ms Reid discovered she had been burgled the following morning. She shares the property in Lambeth with partner Dominic Cotton and their three sons.
She told The Daily Mail: "We found out we had been burgled when our six-year-old son came upstairs and said, 'Daddy, where's the TV?'
"I'm just so relieved I didn't bump into them. They swept up a few valuable items and made a dash. Thankfully they didn't take anything of great personal value - or the children's Christmas toys."
She added: "The boys know what happened, but they are not too concerned. They were just excited about the police coming around and dusting the fingerprints."
