A new study has predicted that more Britons will search online to find home insurance-related products in the early part of this year.
According to Greenlight, an independent search marketing and technology company, more than 1.7 million searches were entered last October in a bid to find insurance-related products.
Of these, 337,000 searches were for home insurance, Greenlight said, adding that the number is set to go up early this year as homeowners take stock of their finances.
The firm's Insurance Sector Report - October 2010 also revealed that the majority (51%) of the insurance searches were car-related, while travel insurance and home insurance accounted for 29% and 20% of all searches.
Simon Hollingsworth, lead researcher at Greenlight said: "Among other facets that online marketers should consider, identifying the most popular terms used to find insurance products and maximising your website's visibility for these keywords is crucial as it impacts on how visible you are to consumers in the search results".
