Despite their relatively higher car insurance premiums, luxury Lexus models are the vehicles with the most satisfied owners, research has found.
Lexus topped the manufacturers' satisfaction table compiled by information services firm JD Power and Associates and What Car? Magazine, while its Lexus IS was the model owners were most happy with.
The survey of over 16,000 car owners also found rising levels of satisfaction with vehicles. From 78.9% in a similar poll in 2010, the figure went up to 79.4% this time.
Vehicle servicing is the area that has seen the biggest improvement in satisfaction levels over the 12-month period.
Honda Accord came in second to the Lexus IS in ownership satisfaction rankings, followed by the Lexus RX, the Honda CR-V and the Toyota Prius.
The least happy were owners of the Ford Ka which came in last on the table in 108th position, below Kia Rio (107), Vauxhall Corsa (106) and the Suzuki SX4 (105).
While Lexus led the way among manufacturers, Honda finished second and was followed by Jaguar in third, Skoda in fourth and Mini in fifth place.
At the bottom, just above 28th and last-placed Vauxhall was Suzuki (27), with Chevrolet (26), Peugeot (25) and Mitsubishi (24).
