Robbers target pharmaceutical van

by  |

Potentially dangerous drugs have been stolen from a pharmaceutical delivery van during a robbery in Birmingham.

The incident, which happened on Pages Lane near the junction with the Birmingham Road (A34), is no doubt covered by the firm's van insurance but police are worried about the possible circulation of the drugs.

The driver of the red van, which was carrying morphine, methadone and sedatives, was travelling along the M6 near junction 7 when a white Peugeot 306 went into the back of the vehicle.

A masked man then jumped into the van and drove off towards Walsall.

The delivery driver, 31, was taken to a the nearby Great Barr Golf Club in a white transit can and was assaulted, suffering cuts and bruises.
