Rics reveals house instruction fall

by  |

A "wait and see" approach is currently being adopted by a number of people who are planning to sell their homes, research indicates.

Home insurance is among the products which people may need to think about investing in when moving from one property to another.

However, according to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics), last month saw fewer sellers place houses on the property market.

Between May and June, Rics suggests there was a sharp decrease in new instructions.

Of the estate agents included in the organisation's latest study, more also claimed to have witnessed house price decreases in June rather than rises.

Alan Collett, Rics housing spokesman, said: "With continued uncertainty over the jobs market and the economy, this subdued picture is set to continue."

Separate Rics figures also recently revealed that some of the country's householders are looking to improve their properties rather than moving home in the current economic climate.
