DE11 BOY plate to go under hammer

by  |

A pukka number plate honouring Only Fools and Horses cockney Derek 'Del Boy' Trotter is just one of 1,500 registrations being auctioned off next week.

But Del Boy would probably have to had doubled the van insurance on his three-wheeled Robin Reliant if he secured this DE11 BOY number plate - it comes with a reserve of £3,000.

Another popular registration going under the hammer would perhaps appeal to EastEnders' star Peggy Mitchell - EA57 END. Interested parties of this particular plate will need a bob or two going spare too as its minimum price is £1,000.

DVLA personalised registrations' marketing manager Damian Lawson said: "These two plates are proving hugely popular with immense interest from potential buyers already surrounding them.

"DE11 BOY stems from our hugely successful 11-series of registrations released for sale last year and while it is unsuitable to sit on a Reliant three-wheeler, it would look terrific on any car registered on our roads from March 1 this year."

The star attraction at the auction is expected to be the 36 O number plate, ideal for an owner of a Ferrari 360 with a reserve set at £10,000.

The auction will take place at Down Hall Country House Hotel, near Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, on September 28, 29, 30.
