A new survey has found that motorists who fail to indicate are the biggest irritant on the roads.
The results found that failing to use indicators came above pet hates such as tailgating and refusing to let other motorists out at junctions as one of the most annoying road habits.
Throwing rubbish out of the window was another action that angered the 2000 motorists surveyed, with the worst offenders for this act found to be young drivers and 4x4 owners.
The car insurance comparison website Confused.com who conducted the survey said that drivers can forget they are in the ‘real world’ when they get behind the wheels of their cars, and that simple irritants can turn into road rage.
Last week they found that drivers in the UK can’t cope without music when they are driving.
Queen's 'Don't Stop Me Now' was found to be the favourite in-car tune, closely followed by another Queen classic, 'Bohemian Rhapsody' with 55% of drivers admitting to singing along to music in the car and 27% tapping along to the beat.
Rihanna's Shut Up and Drive, Meat Loaf's Bat out of Hell and Tracy Chapman's Fast Car were also popular music choices as well as Ace of Spades by Motorhead and Dakota by Stereophonics.
