The Toyota Landcruiser 3.0D-4D Invincible has been named the car that has managed to retain the most value - 72.2% - over a three-year period.
Industry experts CAP, which compiled the list, said the vehicle's toughness and reliability helped it depreciate by the smallest amount after three years and 37,000 miles.
The value of a vehicle influences the cost of its car insurance, so drivers are urged to consider how much depreciation may cost in hidden charges when buying a car.
The Ford Kuga 2.0 TDCi, Audi Q5 2.0 TDI and Porsche Cayenne occupied the second, third and fourth places in the top 10 list.
After three years, these three models managed to keep more than 70% of their value.
Volvo's XC60 came at number five, retaining 68.1%.of its value.
CAP's top 10 list included seven diesel models, with a majority being larger premium vehicles.
