It’s been a busy year here at Autonet with many changes to the business, charity events taking place and a few staff activities too!

Charity donations and fundraising!
Midlands Air Ambulance - £253.66 was raised by staff at Autonet dressing down for the day. The money went to Midlands Air Ambulance who assist a number of communities in the Staffordshire area.
Savana - £452.00 was raised for the charity Savana, a local charity which helps those who have suffered from abuse.
Ruby Owen - £2,280 was raised for Ruby Owen, a local girl with a limiting illness. Staff members held a bake sale, dressed down for the day and the sale of wrist bands.
Circus Starr - £100 was donated to Circus Starr who supports the Donna Louise Trust, this paid for children to go along and watch the Circus.
Cheethams Children Centre - £2,200 was raised and donated to Cheethams Children Centre to fund a counselling room.
Matthew Good Foundation - £500 was donated to Chris Price who ran 32 marathons for the Matthew Good Foundation which researches why the human body can shut down without any warning signs.
British Heart Foundation - £100 was donated to three staff members who completed a coast to coast bike ride.
The Railway Children - £350 was donated to Aviva for a sponsored bike ride.
Joe Gilligan Trust - £1000 was donated to the production of Beauty and Beast to raise money for the Joe Gilligan Trust.
North Staffs Special Olympics - £300 was donated to the North Staffs Special Olympics, to fund a day of Olympic events at Northwood Stadium.
Burslem Park - £550 was donated to sponsor a BMX show at the re-opening of Burslem Park.
Alzheimer’s - £500 was raised for the Alzheimer’s society at the request of staff members.
Lewis Jones - £1000 was raised for Lewis Jones who was fundraising to buy prosthetic legs.
Whitfield Valley Centre Internet Café - £500 was donated to the Whitefield Valley Centre to enable them to buy new computer equipment for the centre.
Dougie Mac - £700 was raised for bring a pound to work day. The money was further increased by sweet sales, pot of gold competition, cake sales and dress down days.
Poppy Appeal - £620 was raised by selling poppies and holding a dress down day.
Movember - £250 was donated to the event of Movember to raise awareness for men's health.
Six Towns Awards - Autonet Insurance were announced the winners of the Entrepreneur Award at the 6 Towns Radio Stoke-on-Trent awards.
Compare the market - Autonet successfully launched our brands on one of the UK’s largest motor comparison sites, Compare the Market.
BBC - The BBC visited Autonet earlier this year to film how our recruitment process takes place and what methods are used. The footage featured on the BBC news along with interviews of senior members of staff.
Penny Wardale - Penny Wardale joined Autonet later in the year taking the position of Director of HR.
Chris Jolley and Stuart Scott - Chris Jolley was promoted to Director of Trading and Stuart Scott to Director of Distribution.
Jeff Mountford - promoted to Head of Distribution December 2012
New Car check site – Autonet worked closely with one of the market leading software solution companies Cheshire Datasystems Limited (CDL), on developing a state of the art program in which the user can input a car registration number onto their website to check the vehicle’s history.
Olympics - As the Olympics were a national event, we decided to join in the fun and decorate each department with a country. Sporting events also took place with a department being declared the overall winners throughout the Olympic weeks.
Halloween - All of Autonet got into the spooky sprit with each department decorating their department in a Halloween theme! Staff members also dressed up for the day with a winner being declared and a prize given!
Christmas party - To get into the Christmas spirit Autonet held a Christmas party for employees and children. The day was a great success with Santa popping by to deliver presents!
As you can see it’s been a busy year at Autonet and we predict 2013 will be no different!
