The charity committee have been busy again this month donating to worthy charities and delivering clothes that have been collected for the Salvation Army. We have also introduced three new charities that we will be fundraising for and donating to over the next couple of months but first see below for our recent updates.
The charity committee visited the North Staffordshire Hospital recently and presented the Cheethams Children Ward with a cheque of £250 for a plaque to be made and put up on the ward in memory of Connor Lee.
Along with everything else we are doing, we have still found time to extend our charity work over the Christmas period with a Christmas raffle for employees. They can buy raffle tickets and win prizes on 16th December with all of the proceeds collected going to the Douglas McMillan Hospice. We are hoping to raise as much money as possible for this worthy cause that provides care for many people. An update on how much we collected will be reported in the next blog.
In the last charity blog we gave you an update about our charity bins we have around Autonet Insurance for Animal Lifeline and The Salvation Army.
We are still getting a great amount of donations of pet food and toys for Animal Lifeline and will be donated the contents hopefully before Christmas.
The charity committee also visited the Salvation Army on Wednesday 14th December and donated and a substantial supply of clothes for the charity.
We will continue to be donating clothes to the Salvation Army over the next few months and are hoping to get as many clothes as possible for this deserving charity.
Autonet Charity committee have been looking for three new charities which will be added to our list of worthy charities. Donations and fundraising will start for these charities in the New Year.
The three new charities are Savana, North Staffordshire Ambulance and Stoke Refuge.
Savana:- is an organisation that supports services and information to anyone who has encountered or experienced any form of sexual assault or violence throughout their lives.
North Staffordshire Air Ambulance:- The Midlands Air Ambulance is the only charity responsible for funding and operating three air ambulances, serving the communities of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and West Midlands responding to more than 34,000 missions per year.
Stoke Refuge:- provides a network of safe houses providing emergency accommodation for women and children when they are most needed.
Watch out for our next charity update in 2012!!
