You may remember last month that here at Autonet we announced that we will be the official sponsors for the Autonet Staffordshire Classic Open Invitation Darts Competition.
The competition will play host to the ultimate darts competition in Stoke-on-Trent with hundreds of spectators expected for the event. It will consist of two days, the first being on Sunday 26th August at Fenton Manor Complex. This will be the knockout stages with around 250 competitors looking for a place in the grand final to play against some of the world’s best dart players. Knock out stages will be played over the best of three legs and the surviving 32 will share a prize of £10,000. The final four that are successful will take part in the grand final on Friday 28th September and play against darting legends Phil Taylor, Ted Hankey, Andy Hamilton and Dave Chisnall.
We wanted to give an employee of Autonet the opportunity to get a free place into the darts competition to play against the world’s greatest darting heroes. Interest in taking part was successful with 16 eager players battling to get a free place into the ultimate competition.
With a venue organised to hold our staff tournament all that is left to do is to see which player has the potential to win a place in the Staffordshire Classic Competition. Each participant has to play competitively to get to the next round playing the best of three for the first heat which then takes them through to the quarter finals, again playing the best of three.
The winners of the quarter finals will play again next week for the Semi Final round and then the final, each playing the best of 5.
Don’t forget to look out for our next update to see who secured themselves a place in the Autonet Staffordshire Classic Open invitation Darts Competition!
Here is what the semi-finalists had to say.
Chris Galloway, semi-finalist commented: “As an avid darts fan I decided to enter the tournament to see how far I could get. I am looking forward to the semi-finals and hopefully the final.”
Stephen Williams, semi-finalist commented: “I really enjoyed the tournament night; I didn't think I'd get this far but am looking forward to the semi-final.”
