Autonet charity update

by  |

Every month is busy for the charity committee here at Autonet with several charity requests that are local and national. This month we have taken requests from our employees for charities they feel can benefit from a donation. Check out the update below.

Ronald McDonald House

The Ronald McDonald House is part of the Alder Hey Hospital situated in Liverpool that provides accommodation for families with children in hospital. It is free to stay for the families for as long as they need to. The houses are a short distance away from the children’s ward which makes it a little easier for families. The committee agreed that it is a great charity to be a part of which is why a donation of £50 was made. The donation will go towards sustaining free accommodation at every specialist hospital in the UK.

The Christie

The Christie charity was put forward for a donation as it has been founded for over 100 years. It treats more than 40,000 patients each year and is an accredited comprehensive cancer centre.  A donation of £50 has been made which will go towards delivering the highest quality of care and treatment to patients.

Lewis Jones

You may remember in the last charity update that we recently fundraised for Lewis Jones to help to buy him prosthetic legs after he sadly contracted Meningitis.

Autonet wanted to do more to help Lewis which is why the Autonet Cup took place earlier this month. Ten departments took part in the cup each hoping to be crowned the Autonet Champions. During the match a raffle also took place with the top prizes being a VIP day out at Liverpool Football Club.

The Autonet cup and raffle raised a total of £626.43 which will go to Lewis Jones in addition to the £1250 that has already being raised.

See you next month for the Autonet charity update!
